The quick answer

Choose a bus with at least enough passenger seats for your entire group. Bus Tour Rhymes has 20, 30, 38 and 43-seat options. For 40 guests, the 43-seat Pulse Express is the single-bus capacity match; a 38-seat bus is too small.

  • Count every guest travelling, including the organiser.
  • A VIP label describes the experience, not extra capacity.
  • Bathrooms and VIP areas vary: compare the specific bus.

Start with a headcount you can rely on

Group chats tend to produce an optimistic guest count. Before requesting a bus, separate confirmed guests from people who are still deciding. Include the organiser and anyone joining partway through the trip if they will be onboard at the same time.

The number in a bus listing is a capacity limit, not a target you can stretch. If your group is close to the limit, discuss the possible final number with the team. It is easier to choose the right arrangement early than to add guests after the itinerary is agreed.

Compare the actual fleet

Use the comparison below to narrow the options by passenger capacity, then open the individual bus page to inspect its interior. The fleet details are the same ones used throughout this website.

Capacity is the first filter; the way you want to celebrate is the next. Smaller groups may prefer an intimate limo interior, while a bigger crew may put capacity ahead of a dedicated VIP area. Availability must still be checked for your date.

For a group of up to 20

The Black Diamond is a 20-seat VIP limo bus with club sound and lighting, a built-in icebox and a bathroom. It is a useful starting point for a smaller birthday group or a close-knit hens or bucks crew.

Check the interior photographs, not only the exterior. Seating layout, access and the space you want for the occasion are part of the decision. Tell the team about any mobility or access needs before booking so suitability can be discussed directly.

For a group of up to 30

The Venga Bus, The Crown Jewel and VIP Celebrity each have 30 seats, but their features differ. The Crown Jewel has a dedicated VIP area and bathroom; VIP Celebrity lists an exclusive VIP area, three big-screen TVs and two built-in iceboxes, but does not list a bathroom.

If a bathroom is essential, make it a requirement rather than an assumption. Likewise, decide whether your priority is a VIP area, a particular interior or simply keeping the whole group together. Compare those details before choosing on the bus name alone.

For 38, 40 or more guests

The Night Rider accommodates 38 guests and includes a bathroom. For 40 guests, the 43-seat Pulse Express is the capacity match in this fleet. The Pulse Express has club sound and lighting and a built-in icebox; a bathroom is not listed for that vehicle.

For more than 43 guests, ask the team about a suitable transport plan. Do not assume one bus will fit or that multiple vehicles will be available. The bus finder below treats groups over 43 as a conversation with the team, rather than inventing a single-bus recommendation.

Three checks before you choose

First, confirm the final passenger count. Second, check the specific features that matter to your trip. Third, explain any luggage, access or pickup constraints. These checks make your enquiry much more useful than simply asking for “a party bus”.

Your preferred bus is a request until availability and booking arrangements are confirmed. If the date matters more than the vehicle, say so: it gives the team room to discuss alternatives that still fit your group.

Before you book

Your questions, answered.

Can 40 people travel in a 38-seat party bus?

No. Choose a vehicle with enough passenger seats. The 43-seat Pulse Express is the capacity match for 40 guests in the listed fleet.

Do all party buses have a bathroom?

No. Check the individual vehicle. The Black Diamond, Venga Bus, Crown Jewel and Night Rider list bathrooms; Pulse Express and VIP Celebrity do not.

What if I have fewer than 20 guests?

You can still enquire about private hire. Share your actual group size and route; the team will confirm suitable options and pricing.
